Savannah Fashions was born out of a deep love for the richness of African culture — its colours, its stories, its people. We believe that what you wear should mean something. Not just look good, but carry history, intention, and soul.
Our Story
Growing up surrounded by the vibrant textiles and traditions of southern Africa, our founder Tarisai saw a gap between the global fashion world and the extraordinary craftsmanship being created on the continent. Fast fashion was everywhere. Authentic, design-forward African clothing was not.
Savannah Fashions was created — a Melbourne-based brand with deep African roots, bridging the gap between cultural heritage and contemporary style. What started as a passion project quickly grew into a community of women who wanted to wear their heritage proudly, and beautifully.
The Design Philosophy
Every piece in our collection is inspired by the aesthetics, patterns, and traditions of the African continent. From bold Ankara prints to the graceful lines of Xhosa ceremonial wear, we work closely with skilled artisans and ethical suppliers to bring these stories to life in ways that feel fresh, wearable, and deeply intentional.
Our Xhosa-inspired sets, in particular, are a labour of love — drawing on the iconic beadwork and colour symbolism of Xhosa heritage to create pieces that are as culturally resonant as they are stunning.
